The actual content of this LJ account shall henceforth be friends-only. However, I will occasionally post random YouTube videos, amusing pics, etc, and those posts will be public, so even if I don't put you on my f-list, I may still entertain you indirectly.
I was going to sign up for an account with a BBS, and it's one of those things where I really don't feel like using my real name (very few things on the 'net have my real name attached to them), so I just went with my "harutake" persona. Unfortunately, this was one of those sites that required that you enter both a first and last name. First of all, wtf is that about? What about people who only have one name? Do they put "nolastname" in that second box? Anyway, I had this vague memory of signing up an account somewhere a few months ago and needing a last name, so I had gone to the RinkWorks Name Generator and selected a random fake japanese name (that's how I got "harutake" in the first place, I didn't even know at the time it was a real name and a city). I couldn't remember what that name was (I should've saved it somewhere, like in a private LJ post or something), so I decided to do a Google search. I figure whatever the site was probably has a "profile" for me, so just doing a search on "harutake" might possibly find it.
Well, I still haven't found it, but near the top of page 11, I did find this. What the hell? And that "what the hell?" isn't anger or anything like that, it's just confusion. Is this something that someone set up manually, or does blogged.com have some "feature" that automatically creates a "feed" for every LJ account it finds? The URL and name of the page are my journal title, so what happens when I change that? Why is it categorized under "Entertainment"? On what basis does it choose the "related blogs"?
It only sees my public posts, which is why I'm not upset, but I'd really like to know what this is all about. Not only how this happened, but why? For the most part, I do the LJ thang to share my thoughts and occasionally take part in communities, I'm not one of those bloggers that's looking for an "audience". Most of post I make that have any level of significance are f-locked, this isn't my attempt to grab my 15 minutes of fame, so who exactly benefits from this half-ass duplicate?
Anyway, I'm leaving this post public, because I think it will be amusingly meta when/if it shows up there, and I'm going to change the title of my LJ as soon as I can think of a good one to see if that has any effect (Eddie Izzard quotes are good, but I think I'll try to pick something from Hairspray or Enchanted).

note to self: don't surf Uncyclopedia while stoned. Srsly, I just hurt myself laughing at this, in the article Shortcut:
Example E
Example E is taken from Super Mario Bros Shortcut on the NES. Having catapulted yourself through the air above all structure and scenery you then run at heart-bursting speeds, your hidden body on the verge of hopping off the edge of reality.
This is a potent shortcut which skips you through three whole worlds to world 8, where the Hammer Bro's will own you. It is worth keeping in mind, however, that in order to successfully execute this shortcut you will first have to obtain a plumbing bachelors and associates degree, as required by The National Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering for Pipe Travel. As this could take upwards of four years to do, you may find it quicker not to bother.
Note: Be forewarned; do not attempt this shortcut on the fourteenth to the seventeenth day of any month as Bullet Bill will be bleeding like a stuck pig and up for a war.

Most of the rap I do like is Canadian, and most of the Canadian rap I like is indy. Even if you're not a fan, I think you might like this video anyway. It's got a catchy beat (as opposed to the vast majority of "bumpin" and "bangin" beats that seem impossible to dance to without being indecent), and a special guest, the legend formerly known as Maestro Fresh-Wes (now just going by "Maestro")... and a few surprises near the end.
surely I'm not the only one convinced that this lovely piece of awesomeness named Joanna is part-elf, am I?
